PRE-TRIP ADVICE

To ensure a smooth journey and avoid unpleasant situations, we recommend that you:

  • Check that your passport and other travel documents are valid;
  • Arrange visas if necessary;
  • Book your flights and hotels to get the best price;
  • Take out travel insurance to protect yourself against unexpected situations;
  • Check the health recommendations and required vaccinations in the country you are travelling to;
  • Get a doctor's certificate if you are expecting or have a medical condition;
  • Make sure you have sufficient funds, appropriate currency and valid bank cards;
  • Familiarise yourself with the airline's baggage policy;
  • Know your rights and obligations and respect them.

We recommend arriving at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight. Please note that for European flights, check-in closes 45 minutes before your flight, and for international flights, it closes 60 or even 75 minutes before the flight time on your ticket. Passengers who check in late will not be allowed on board. It is recommended to arrive at large international airports, especially those with more than one terminal, 3 hours before your flight. Also consider the departure time to the airport, which can vary considerably depending on the time of day.

Countries where additional security measures are recommended or considered risky can be found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania. Enter the country you are travelling to and you will get the latest information.
